Overview
The Senior Business Analyst will lead and conduct business analysis for clients with diverse business and technology needs. The role involves gathering, documenting and analyzing requirements; developing business cases and feasibility studies; supporting business process improvement; and aligning deliverables with OPS project management, enterprise architecture, gating, and systems development methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client business problems and opportunities and document requirements.
- Gather, document and analyze business needs and requirements with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering activities, including JAD sessions, interviews and mockups.
- Prepare and advise on business analysis policies, processes, standards and best practices.
- Apply re-engineering concepts and identify alternative, cost-effective service delivery approaches.
- Develop business strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies.
- Conduct business modeling, use case modeling, conceptual and logical data modeling, process and data flow modeling, and business rules definition.
- Define non-functional requirements and develop performance measures and traceability matrices.
- Monitor progress, resolve issues and report to I&IT management and stakeholders.
- Develop business analysis documentation, presentations and briefing notes.
- Support UAT and stakeholder engagement.
- Participate in governance working groups and contribute to architecture, operational, SDLC and information architecture best practices.
- Document project status, resource and financial tracking, progress, issues and risks.
- Complete knowledge transfer throughout the project lifecycle through meetings and SharePoint documentation.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 8+ years of business analysis experience.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating JAD sessions.
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies.
- Experience creating detailed business analysis documents, user stories and business cases.
- Experience with Figma, HTML and CSS.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with user-centric website/forms design.
- Business analysis experience in large IT organizations, preferably in an OPS environment.
- Previous Government or Public Sector experience.
- Experience using information retrieval packages.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
- Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), related regulations and standards.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in UAT.
- Knowledge of native system capabilities needed to support courts case management functionality.
- Experience with OPS I&IT processes, standards and artifacts.
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile and iterative Agile.
- Experience with business functional modeling, business event modeling and business process mapping.
- Ability to translate business and data requirements into technology solution specifications.
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Experience with product management and project/product delivery methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
