Overview

The Information Architect will provide architecture advice and deliverables for enterprise I&IT initiatives. The role requires experience in information architecture, business architecture, data modelling, cloud-native and composable architecture, data ingestion and data mesh, AI-enabled data analysis, and Ontario Public Service governance and Target State Architecture processes.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing information architecture interpretation advice and expertise to project and/or enterprise-level I&IT project teams.
• Demonstrated experience providing business architecture advice focused on business domains, goals, processes, information, roles, responsibilities, locations, events, and business-strategy alignment.
• Experience using Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools, including PowerDesigner and Visio.
• Experience using AI for data analysis, including prompt engineering, machine learning literacy, automation, and generative AI for analytics.
• Experience with Public Sector enterprise architecture governance, committees, and processes.

Skills and Experience

Information Architecture (40%)
• 3+ years of experience in the development and implementation of applications and databases.
• Information architecture and business architecture advisory experience.
• Experience delivering architectural artefacts for project review governance points.
• Leadership in complex application architecture reviews, assessments, development, and/or support projects for enterprise initiatives.
• CASE tools, including PowerDesigner and Visio.
• AI-enabled data analysis, including prompt engineering, machine learning literacy, automation, and generative AI.

Technical Skills (25%)
• Modular and composable application architecture.
• Omni-channel delivery of government services.
• Cloud design, solution design, infrastructure design, and cloud subscriptions.
• Cloud-native architecture, microservices, RESTful APIs, and API management.
• Data ingestion informed by consumption requirements and data mesh adoption for storage.
• Systems analysis and design in large, integrated systems environments.
• Architecture design, cloud management, DevOps, and collaboration tools.

Public Sector Experience (20%)
• Public Sector enterprise architecture governance, committees, and processes.
• Target State Architecture (TSA), GO-ITS standards, and standards architecture deliverables.
• Information Modeling Standards, Information Modeling Handbook, Common Data Elements Model – Party LDM, Common Data Elements Model – Address LDM, and Common Address Data Usage Patterns – LDM.

Soft Skills (15%)
• Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Facilitation, process mapping, presentation, and documentation skills.
