Overview
The contractor will design, develop, maintain, migrate, test, tune, and support data integration solutions. The role requires expertise in Informatica PowerCenter v10.2, Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), Oracle databases, PL/SQL, data warehousing, cloud technologies, and ETL performance optimization. The resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5-related projects or initiatives as needed.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Informatica Cloud (IDMC).
• Migrate Informatica PowerCenter v10.2 ETL code, including embedded SQL and PL/SQL developed in Oracle 11g and 19c.
• Test migrated embedded SQL code and PL/SQL stored procedures.
• Tune and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and resolve ETL issues, including performance tuning and recovery.
• Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into star and snowflake data warehouses.
• Translate technical specifications into tested applications and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with vendors and project teams on unit testing, debugging, and ETL validation.
• Document technical designs, deployment guides, and support materials.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum delivery cycles.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and access-control policies.
• Provide post-implementation support and knowledge transfer.
• Provide database administration support, including configuration, backup/recovery, and user roles.
Mandatory Qualifications
• 5+ years of data warehouse design and development, including ETL/ELT for star/snowflake schemas.
• 5+ years designing, building, automating, and optimizing complex ETL/ELT processes using PL/SQL or equivalent.
• Experience with Informatica Cloud (IDMC) ETL process development and support.
• Experience migrating Informatica PowerCenter v10.2 ETL code, including embedded SQL and PL/SQL from Oracle 11g and 19c.
• Experience testing migrated SQL and PL/SQL stored procedures.
• Advanced SQL skills, including PL/SQL and T-SQL, query optimization, troubleshooting, performance tuning, failover, and recovery.
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, relational and dimensional data modelling, and database administration.
• Experience creating denormalized data assets from normalized Oracle databases and loading them to other DBMS platforms.
• Experience with Python and Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with cloud technologies and hands-on Azure SQL Server and Azure Data Factory pipeline development.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
• Experience translating business and technical specifications into tested applications for large, complex, mission-critical systems.
• Experience with SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, consulting, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with internet-ready applications, rapid application development, middleware, and gateways.
• Knowledge of information management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• Experience reviewing and modifying product installation scripts.
• Experience conducting design walkthroughs and providing post-implementation support.
• Knowledge of AODA and related accessibility regulations and standards.
• Public-sector inter-jurisdictional project experience.
• Knowledge of provincial environmental services and the associated legislative framework.
• Experience integrating and migrating environmental systems.
• Knowledge of OPS Enterprise Architecture artifacts, OPS Unified I&IT Project Methodology, OPS gating processes, and OPS standard systems development methodologies.
