Overview

Justice Technology Services requires a Senior Software Developer to work with the business team in developing and validating enhancements as per business requirements; maintain and enhance the existing application and resolve bugs in a timely manner; and ensure synchronized and consistent data access for all OFPS locations. Work includes documentation, development, database design, and testing.

The resource will support the development of conceptual, logical, and physical architecture artifacts and ensure solution alignment with GO ITS and enterprise architecture patterns. The engagement will expand the existing pilot dashboard beyond a subset of critical indicators to include province-wide medicolegal autopsy casework metrics, workload analytics, service performance indicators, and executive reporting capabilities. The resource will develop data pipelines, APIs, reporting services, and dashboard functionality required to support executive decision-making; design and build secure interfaces between F-Path, Vanguard (QuinC), and Ontario justice-sector databases; establish data exchange mechanisms for criminal charge information, court attendance data, subpoenas, counsel assignments, and case disposition information; consolidate legacy data sources into a unified platform; and improve data quality, reporting consistency, analytics capability, and interoperability across systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish data exchange mechanisms for criminal charge information, court attendance data, subpoenas, counsel assignments, and case disposition information.
• Consolidate legacy data sources into a unified platform.
• Improve data quality, reporting consistency, analytics capability, and interoperability across systems.
• Provide knowledge transfer of code and documentation of all types assigned for this role to the Project Manager and team members through 1:1 meetings, team meetings, documentation on SharePoint and the DevOps site, throughout the project life cycle.

Mandatory Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with programming and developing in .NET Core. Experience with coding and implementing applications using, C#, .Net, VB.NET, ASP. Net, MVC, Identity C #, JavaScript, jQuery and XML/XLST. Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft SQL environment.
• Experience building applications using MS .NET elements such as Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Presentation Framework, MS Sync Framework, Web Client Software Factory, MS Web Services and Entity Framework. Experience with Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Dev Ops, DevExpress, Cloud development and Enterprise Library.
• Experience in Service oriented architecture, object-oriented design, user interface development. Design, develop and consume Web Services and Web API. Working with Use Cases, Class diagrams, component diagrams, state diagrams etc. Experience with Data Migration. Strong communication skills and team player. Experience coding and implementing SQL procedures, scripts, T-SQL and Object definitions for SQL Server. Experience with Oracle RDMS and Web Servers. Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies. Experience in the use of information retrieval packages using SQL (Stored procedures, triggers, functions). Experience with one or more communications protocols. Experience with middleware and gateways.

Preferred Qualifications

• Development skills and experience in Microsoft VB.NET framework, MS SQL database, Azure, TFS/DevOps, C#, DevExpress, data migration, documentation, testing and QA. Photo Optimization, database documenter.
