Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist required to plan and execute manual and automated testing for web, API, data warehouse, and enterprise systems. This is a full-time, five-days-per-week onsite assignment in Toronto.

Overview
The consultant will develop testing strategies, plans, cases, scripts, and test data; execute functional, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, and user acceptance testing; manage defects; and support quality assurance throughout the SDLC.
Responsibilities
• Provide advice on testing strategy, test plans, testing tools, and required testing resources.
• Plan and organize testing for large GUI and non-GUI systems, including systems integration, specialized, stress, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases against system components.
• Work with testing leads, IT leads, project teams, developers, business analysts, and project managers.
• Execute functional, integration, system, regression, performance, stress, and load tests.
• Validate system behaviour under varied conditions.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
• Reproduce and help resolve issues with developers.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Micro Focus, OpenText UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain documentation of test results, coverage, and quality metrics.
• Provide input for user manuals and release notes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and ensure testing processes comply with industry and regulatory requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data.
• Strong manual and automated testing and scripting experience.
• Quality assurance and testing experience, including unit, integration, load, and performance testing.
• Automation testing of Windows services and Web API services using tools such as Postman, ThunderClient, and Swagger.
• Experience with automation testing tools such as Playwright, Quick Test Pro, and LoadRunner.
• Experience executing software testing processes and methodologies.
• Experience writing test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios; testing web applications; and reporting defects.
• Experience with HPQC and TFS for documenting and tracking testing progress, test plans, and test cases.
• Experience with VBA and VBS.
• Experience testing WCAG AA compliance in web applications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language.
• Experience using information retrieval packages.
• Knowledge of testing methods in an object-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of information management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• Knowledge of AODA regulations and standards.
• Experience planning testing for large and small systems.
• Experience coding automated test scripts and automated test cases.
• Experience testing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
• Public-sector experience, particularly with education systems.
• Experience using screen readers such as JAWS or NVDA and High Compliance Sherriff for accessibility testing.
