Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist required to lead and execute manual and automated testing for large-scale enterprise systems, including functional, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, and user acceptance testing.

Overview

This onsite Toronto assignment supports quality assurance and testing activities for the Government Services Integration Cluster. The specialist will develop test strategies, plans, scripts, cases, reports, and automated tests while collaborating with development, business analysis, project, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on testing strategy, test plans, testing tools, and required testing resources.
• Plan and organize testing efforts for large GUI and non-GUI systems, including systems integration, specialized, user acceptance, and stress testing.
• Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases across system components.
• Execute functional, integration, system, and regression tests.
• Validate expected system behaviour under various conditions.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
• Work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Micro Focus/OpenText UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, and Postman.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct performance, stress, and load testing.
• Apply AODA requirements, regulations, and standards.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements and ensure quality.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain test results, test coverage, and quality metrics documentation.
• Provide input to user manuals and release notes.
• Ensure testing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Mandatory Qualifications

• 10+ years of software testing experience in enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing and automated testing tools and frameworks.
• 5+ years of manual testing experience across testing types, including functional, non-functional, and UAT testing.
• Experience using JIRA or similar tools to track and manage defects.
• Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing methodologies.
• Extensive AODA testing and compliance experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining test strategies, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
• Experience with Selenium or Postman for test automation/API testing.
• Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar performance testing tools.
• Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar defect-tracking tools.
• End-to-end testing expertise for complex systems, including functional and non-functional requirements.
• Knowledge of QA compliance standards and security testing best practices.
• Strong understanding of SQL and Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git, or GitLab.
• Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
• Knowledge of OPS quality assurance standards and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language.
• Experience using information retrieval packages.
• Knowledge of testing methods in an object-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• Knowledge of AODA regulations and standards.
• Experience planning and organizing testing for large and small systems.
• Experience coding automated test scripts to produce automated test cases.
• Experience testing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications.
